Corso Vannucci Cashmere

How to care for cashmere.

Cashmere loves water.

Our advice is to wash your garments as often as possible, because cashmere loves water: when wet, the fibres relax, and as they dry they return to their original state. Also, whatever you wear over knitwear should have a smooth surface, without protruding labels or accessories.

That is why it pays to be careful with everyday habits, even the most ordinary ones, as they have a decisive effect on how long your knitwear lasts. For example, avoid carrying pens or hard objects in your pockets, to keep pilling to a minimum.

Pilling.

Pilling is the appearance of small “balls of fibre”. It is caused by friction on the very fine surface fibres that work loose from the yarn and tangle together into the little balls known as “pills”.

Pilling is often thought to be a sign of poor quality. In fact, it is a common and perfectly normal characteristic of cashmere and fine wool.
